Our Story

In 1994, our founders, Doug and Nancy Sauve, launched Fin’s Seafood Distributors as a retail outlet. We started out with 4 employees, primarily selling fresh fish. Eventually, we expanded our operations to include frozen fish and seafood lines, giving our customers added variety.

Strengthening the Team

Soon after, we hired our first sales representative who was responsible for building the wholesale side of the business. Our company quickly grew, and we established a reputation as the premier company for all fresh and frozen seafood.

We now have 3 representatives in charge of the wholesale division, and another 3 who are assigned to new customer accounts and inquiry resolution. Their experience has been paramount to the business, as they all came from food service backgrounds.

Becoming a Specialty Company of Sysco

By fall of 2009, our workforce expanded to 28 employees working in a 14,000 square-foot facility in Sherwood Park, AB. We had more than 8 trucks at our disposal, providing timely shipping and transportation for our daily operations.

In February 2010, we became a part of the Sysco family as an official subsidiary of Sysco Canada, Inc. Since then, we have been utilizing 7 refrigerated trucks to make daily deliveries throughout Edmonton, servicing customers in numerous areas of the food industry.

HACCP-Certified

Our organization is fully compliant with hazard analysis and critical control points (HACCP) standards. We have a strict food safety enhancement program in place, ensuring top quality in all of our products.
